Saturday I attended a Women’s Christmas retreat at the Center. The Center is one of my favorite places to spend time for spiritual renewal. It is a place for celebration, enrichment and healing. Over 30 years I attended retreats, yoga, painting, weaving, teas, lunches and special holiday events.
This was the first year the retreat wasn’t overnight, but none the less a great experience. It was a spiritual Christmas retreat, where we spent time singing, storytelling and crafting. The retreat began in the Forest Room,
where Christmas songs were sung and stories were told. The large windows provided spectacular views of the Center’s grounds,
The log cabin on the right, behind the trees, is where we did our crafting.
We crafted in the log cabin in the middle. I “borrowed” this photo from the website.
What a serene space to craft in. We completed several craft projects. For one project, rustic stockings, we walked out on the grounds to collect fresh clippings to stuff our stockings with..
on our way back we passed the stables,
a few of the staff lodgings.
I fell in love with this cottage that a staff member lives in. Now, this what I call a cottage in the woods!
We also passed the beautiful chapel. It only holds 50 people, my Mom and brother were married here! The bag I’m carrying has my fresh clippings, pine cones, twigs and berries inside!
The meals (lunch and dinner) were served in the great lodge, sorry no photos, and the food was so good! I wish I could share with you all my projects but I donated them back to the Center.
It was a wonderful day of crafting and fellowship! I’m attending a Knitting retreat at the end of January, can’t wait!
