The weather has been a cold topic through the Midwest and will continue this week. I’ve been staying in and working on organizing the Charmer and knitting. Oh how I enjoy knitting! Whenever I knit my Mama’s spirit comes to me, a strong magnetic pull, like she’s sitting next to me again when I was a child.
A few weeks ago I attended a knitting retreat and brought/worked on mystery knit project. It was fun working on a project that you didn’t know what it was. I’ll admit, after the third clue, I had a feeling what it was but it was still fun not really knowing until the end. I shared the stitch pattern of the first 3 clues…
Each of the first three clues were knitted in 8″ sections, each a different stitch pattern. The first two clue stitch patterns were any thing but fun to knit. The least favorite stitch an American knitted likes to do is a “ribbing” stitch. So eight inches of ribbing were not my idea of fun!
The pattern continued the same way, stitch patterns in eight inch sections, for the last three clues too. I’ve never knitted the last three stitch patterns which were really fun to do, and highlighted the yarn colors chosen.
Before I received the final clue I thought it was going to be a scarf…but with clue eight it was clear it’s a cowl. Then I seamed the two edges together using the Kitchener stitch…
I ended up really loving the cowl and the colors really pops against my black coat. It’s really warm and I can pull it up over my lips an nose to keep the frigid air out. For this I love it a lone.
A new goal, to get better at taking selfies! Uh, no don’t think so?
Do you take selfies of yourself?
