Seven Favorite Valentine Day Vignettes
Hi all! I’m digging back into the blog archives today to share seven favorite valentine day vignettes with you again. It was fun looking back and hope you enjoy it too!
My favorite vignettes always include using some of my vintage dishes. The platter is one of my all-time favorite which was a thrift store find. While thrifting I found a Laura Ashley blouse to make several hearts with. If you’d like to see how I made them click here.
Whenever thrifting I always check out blouses, skirts, and dresses for the fabric…and fell in love with the pretty floral fabric. Thrift store provides fabrics which for recycling for hearts, pillows, lampshades and so many more options.
A touch of charm Charm added by using pink thread cones as holders for the white trees.
Another beautiful floral platter is the foundation for the vignette. I love using softer pinks with red for Valentine. Vintage books add a sense of romance to the vignette and Milk glass candle holder acts as tree stands.
One of my favorite places to sit is in the kitchen nook and not only in summer but in Winter too! The wildlife is as interesting in both seasons. It’s also hard to get a good photo shooting into the direct light but the love the vignettes against the snow-covered background.
As the years pass I find myself drawn to simpler times/vignettes. What I also love about the vignette is the sense of romance of the vignette. I love added needlepoint roses at Valentine’s. To see more…click here.
If you’ve followed me for any time you know how much I love vintage dishes. I love stacking them in an old box and filled with “rose” dishes. The heart was a very quick and easy project. Cut out a heart shape, layer with batting inside and sew 1/2″ inside outer edge. Then I added a button and twisted fabric into a rope and glued on.
I always wanted to have a writing desk area and found a perfect spot for one upstairs. One of the first vignettes I did was for Valentine’s. I often used the favorite teacup when I’m writing. Sipping and writing just seem to go together.
A romantic Valentine’s Master bedroom tea tray created for me. Mr. C. isn’t romantic so I create my own. I love using pillows, on the bed, and in fact, the pillows, shams, and pillowcases were thrift store finds.
The Guest Room was also decorated for Valentine’s day. It is one of my favorite places to spend some time “alone”. A vintage tablecloth wrapped around the pillow and lace covered pillows stacked in front. A heart pillow added more softness.
It was fun looking back at my Seven Favorite Valentine Day Vignettes. Creating vignettes is one of my favorite things to do.
