All ladies need to have a Mr. Knightley in our lives, mine travels to an fro in between my home and garden. He’s very gallant and very dedicated wherever his post of “guard” happens to be!
I found Mr. Knightley at a very large Illinois flea market – Kane County Flea Market. He caught my eye right away but thought the attraction would fade as fast as it came! My friend Lori and I continued on our way checking out the vendors and were really enjoying our day.
When it was time to leave I found myself being drawn back to the vendor where Mr. Knightley was. As we neared my heart started pounding once again. Would he still be there? Would he feel the same way I do? Would he want to go home with me?
As we got nearer to the vendor I spotted Mr. Knightley still standing at the very same spot where I first saw him. Once again we were drawn to each other, it is fate, this was meant to be!
As we drove home from the fair he was very quiet. I wondered if he was as nervous as I was about his meeting Mr. Charmer. Would they like each other, become friends, or would this turn into a rivalry?
But to my happiness, Mr. Charmer and Mr. Knightley became fast friends. Mr. Knightley soon settled in to his new role of “guard” and firmly planted himself out in our garden.
He is so proud and takes this position so “seriously” and does a wonderful job as garden “guard“. Each night as I retire a the feeling of comfort envelopes me knowing he is there.
As summer fades to fall Mr. Knightley moves indoors to his new post. He is now the “guard” of the stairwell which leads to our bedroom upstairs….
Who is your Mr. Knightley?
