The door bell rang, Bo’s ears stood straight up and I thought who could that be? My first thought was oh my gosh I look like
good crap! I slowly made my way to the front door hoping whoever was there would be gone before I got there.
Peeped out front door window and didn’t see anyone? I hesitantly swung the door open, and just to the right was – the UPS Box! Could it be! No, it’s not suppose to be here for another few days. Did I order something else and forgotten? NO, it’s THE UPS BOX that was bringing me this big bad boy……..
I’ve been researching cameras and found some great information. I knew I wanted a Nikon because the lenses are interchangeable. After Goggle searching I stumbled on a great site —by Ken Rockwell. If there is anything you want to learn about camera’s this is the place to go. This site is fabulous with an unbelievable amount of information covering every aspect of cameras and producing quality pictures.
I purchased a factory refurbished Nikon D40 6.1 Megapixel Digital SLR with 3X Zoom Kit Outfit, with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens though a site that Ken recommended Adorama. I bought the Nikon D40 SLR kit (camera, lens, USB 2.0 card reader, 8GB memory card, and extra 2000 EN-EL9 memory card) for a total price of $499.32.
I ripped open the box, pulled out the “quick starter” guide and got to work. The battery charged in less than 2 hours and off I went taking picture. The one thing I remember being mention a
few numerous times was to TURN OFF THE FLASH. So I did!
This camera is so light weight, and so easy to use. Mr. Charmer thinks I’ve crazy cause I carry this bad boy around like a baby, and kiss it, often. Yes, I said it, I keep finding myself kissing this camera. I am in LOVE! I feel like a child who’s just opened the best present!
Here’s one of the first pictures taken with this bad boy….
The picture is also a sneak peak of one of my Spring DIY project’s I’ve been working on!
So what’s your favorite camera?
