Hey there….hope your weekend is going well and you are enjoying sunny warm weather that we have at the Charmer. Last weekend when we were in KY I did muster up enough energy to go vintage hunting. I felt foolish as I wore my allergy mask while out shopping since it was so B.A.D where we were. When I headed out I was not looking for a cottage quilt for the master bedroom…but guess what I found.
We were shopping at a store called “Peddlers Mall”. I hadn’t heard of this before and was intrigued to go. My friend, Jennifer, who I was shopping with found the one in Owensboro. This particular store was eclectic, beauty supplies, clothes, vintage etc.
The quilt was all hand stitched including the quilting. The cotton is very soft telling me it has been washed many times.
Immediately I was drawn to the hand stitch quilt because of its pretty fabric colors and patterns.
The quilt has a very casual cottage feel to it…perfect for the Charmer.
I didn’t change out my blue floral bedskirt and looking at it now now sure if I like the patterns together..Tucked away somewhere? I know I have a white bedskirt and might try changing it out. But on second look I like the patterns together. What do you think?
The pillow shams on the bed were thrift store finds last month and so was the cottage floral pillow. Picking from my stash I felt this complimented the quilt the most…not that I won’t be on the lookout for a better match.
Our lilacs are in bloom and smell wonderful in the master bedroom.
To help give a laid back cottage look I used the front sham with the the back side facing out. You can see where its opening with just two ties holding it closed.
The cottage sign just wouldn’t stay on the wall in the dressing room and moved it to the vintage dental molding above our bed. Bleeding hearts are also in bloom in the cottage gardens and cut some bleeding hearts and placed inside a milk glass vase.
A cottage quilt for our master bedroom was unexpected but I’m so glad it found me….we were meant to be together. I didn’t realize how much I wanted one for our bedroom. The hand stitched cottage quilt provides the room a casual, laid back, and welcoming feeling.
The quilt was $60 for a queen size, and its a very generous queen. I do believe I found another treasures at a great price.
