Hello everyone, last December I moved the bookcase from the living area into our kitchen nook to make room for my forever hutch. The nook area was actually the enclosed porch when I moved into the Charmer and converted it into the nook…which has never been regretted.
The cottage kitchen nook last Fall without the bookcase and smaller curved cabinets.

I didn’t mind the bookcase in the nook during the cooler weather because it helped break the winds coming in. The Charmer was built with NO insulation and it can really get cold quick and Mr. C and I always kid about feeling the NorthWest winds coming in.
We replaced the two wood toned cabinets with white curio cabinets found at Goodwill (read about it here). In the photo the bookcase, in the middle, is visible. The plan was to have it moved downstairs but it hasn’t happened yet. The reason I don’t want it in the kitchen in warmer weather because it blocks the view to my gardens and pond. In order to see them I have to stand up and move to the bookcase.
In my previous post I mentioned seeing projects in progress or as of the finale stage. Based on your feedback about wanting to see the different stages I’m showing the room with the bookcase still there.
The bookcase is great for the additional storage it provides. For some of my vintage teacups…
One of my favs…
Teacups in small wooden crates..
Additional teacups and saucers ready for when you all stop by for a visit…
And additional white serviceware. Its nice have this set at hand because I used them in my food photo shoots.
But of course, my Rose Chintz dishes, are always out for me to look at!
When I think about it this isn’t really a change but more a hiccup in plans.
I was suppose to leave for a SOTF event tomorrow and decided not to go…sometimes being with women is the last thing I want to do! I need peace and calm…and spending time in my garden where my soul is soothed and my strength renewed.
