Cottage Cutting Garden
I haven’t been able to post for a few days since I’ve been having some “security” issues. Due to this I’ve implemented higher end security monitoring to my site. We all know there are crazies out there who like to be destructive.
Since we were traveling more this summer I didn’t want to buy as many annuals. This helped keep this years garden costs down by starting from seed and direct sowing in to the garden.
There was one section in the garden that I direct sowed seeds for a cutting garden. The seed mix contains, Gypsophila (baby breaths), Cosmos, Zinnia, Coreopsis, Larkspur, Forget Me Nots, Aster, Bachelor Buttons, Bluebells and Candytuft to name a few.
Its the first time I’ve tried this and and was inexpensive to do vs. buying annual to fill the whole area.
Just before leaving for the Mississippi River last weekend I did a video.
I have minimum experience with videos…and I cannot understand why I sound so serious…J
In case you don’t know the Queen Anne’s Lace are white, most of you know Zinnias. There are also some pink Cleome in the background I didn’t mention. On the right side of garden are several pink phlox in bloom which are perennials.
The cutting gardens blooms are lagging behind since I didn’t get the seeds sowed until the 1st week in June. But blooms should be popping soon. As the different flowers bloom I’ll take more videos! Well if you like them?
It was fun sharing a video of the cottage cutting garden and hope you enjoy it!
