Yesterday was predicted to be the warmest day for the next week. It’s been so cold I’ve been staying in and feeling the cabin fever bite. Heading out the door the sun was shinning bright and the snow twinkling. Gosh you feel so much better when the sun is out!
When I enter a thrift store my “route”is planned out, each stores route is different. At GW, my first pass is the dish/kitchen isles, then furniture, artwork, lighting, linens and so on. One thing I was not looking for was adding to my Currier and Ives collection.
Following my route, and starting with the dish section,
were two two Currier & Ives Porcelain Coffee cups, $1 each. My favorite screen is the one with the yellow house on it.
Then I spotted this lovely set of 4 Winter scene small plates.
GW has a tin section, which at times can have some great tins. Picked up this one for $1.99. Using it to store ornaments inside.
There were two different scene plates, similar t0 this, marked $5 each. Too high for me!
Thrifting has provided me the avenue to many different collections. Mr. C said: I think “you are a hoarder” again! I’m beginning to think maybe there’s something to what he’s saying?
Is there anything you collect that borders on obsession? Do you have multiple ones like me?
