As I headed down to the dungeon (basement) the last thing on my mind was pulling together a kitchen corner vignette.
Old doors have been used in decorating lately but I hadn’t even thought of using one until I headed downstairs. I completely forgotten there was an old door until I stumbled upon it. It’s original to the house and was tucked in the far left corner.
It was in really good shape just covered with dirt and dust. I hauled it upstairs and tucked it in the kitchen corner. Before I started decorating I called Mr. Charmer in and ask what he thought. Mr. C said “why would you want an old door in the kitchen corner”. So much for asking him anything.
I wasn’t planning on decorating a corner so I started pulling items laying nearby and began with a small vegetable bin cabinet found at GW.
Everything in the vignette are thrift store finds (except the vegetable in the bins). On Thursday I picked up the vegetable cabinet and the large blue cup.
The cup is very big and was made in Japan and shows it’s age due to the amount of crazing on it. It was certainly used and has dark stains in side of it.
The candle stick is very tall and I like how it fits in, the dollies were $1.50 for three of them.
I didn’t have any more time to spend on the vignette and I headed back to what I was doing. Until…
I spotted the cute rooster lamp. I’ve tried to use it in different vignettes…
but didn’t seen to fit… I’m good for a while…but will need to add some red for Valentine’s Day.
