Behind the scenes I’m in a frenzy to get our Christmas decorating done…the other day I shared our 2013 Christmas Buffet, today I’m sharing with your our 2013 Christmas Mantel!
The red and white theme continued from our Christmas buffet. Before I share our mantel with you I just want to say how wonderful it’s been decorating this season. It is the best I have felt in nearly a year! I’m not completely there, but will be soon!
Our Christmas mantel centerpiece is a quilted tree wall hanging I’ve recently finished. It was a lucky day when the fabrics were found.
So wish I’d purchased more of the fabrics.
The quilt was mounted using a tree branch found many years ago in the Palos Hiking Woods…
Frasier Fir trimmings from our tree were attached to the branch using garden wire.
So now that I had my base point…I just started filling in with some of my treasures…
The left side..
The right side…
The shutters were on the wall by the buffet with the old mirror, and were tucked on the end of the fireplace. I pulled them out and leaned them against the fireplace front, there was a nail in each of them and hung the stockings. I hadn’t planned on leaving them here, but kind of like it…for a while. But wonder does it look OK?
While finishing the mantel I was also working on the dining room table scape. Can’t wait to show you!
Hoping all you holiday decorating has been as much fun as mine!
