Winter Mantel

Usually at this time of year I'm stumped about what am I'm going to post about? I was thinking what's wrong with me? everyone else seems to be able to come up with a great idea? I diverted my "blank" post problem to reading my Feedly Page (like Google reader) and the first post I read was Kim's @ Savvy Southern Style - A Gathered vignette.

I was so surprised to see Kim was feeling about the same as me, WOW, I don't feel so bad now!  If Kim can "frett" about a post, so can I! My inspiration came when I was creating a vignette for my Winter Mantel.

Winter Mantel

I just started grabbing winter looking items and I had the old broiler pan bottom that I used at my first booth to display my booth number.

Wanting another simple project (haven't been feeling well) and just not up to spending tons of time on it. I also have a whole boat load of Christmas decorations to put away.

Winter Mantel

I used hydrangeas on both sides, I just love the look of them.

Winter Mantel

All need now is some more snow, oh wait, it's snowing outside.

Hope to see all your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best #54 tomorrow, Sunday, January 6th.

  2. Very pretty winter mantel! I love the use of the hydrangeas! I'm kind of the same way. I think that all of the bustle and activity of getting ready for Christmas and posting about it numbed my brain. I have a few ideas for posts though. I just need to get my rump in gear! Hugs, Leena

  3. Cathy,
I love your winter mantle. It will be awhile until I get done with taking down Christmas and decorating for Winter and Valentine's Day. And I so wish I had room so I could have a mantle to decorate!!

    Hugs,
    Deb

  4. Wow it is absolutely gorgeous! :)

  5. Such a cozy mantle! Love it. Love the hydrangeas. They dry so well. Love the music sheets behind. What a great idea. Hugs, and happy new year to you.

  6. Hi Cathy!

  7. Oh that is soooooo cute! I love it, esp the picket fence part! Adorable.

Okay, one of my New Years resolutions is taking the time to leave more notes for my blogging friends! I always read posts in a reader and it makes it hard to leave a comment or two. But I do not miss a post! Love seeing the things you share and your lovely home. I wish I had more time to blog, but I work part time at our local library. I wanted to share with you my new blog, just opened this week.... http://www.brookekroeger.blogspot.com.... it will be for my vingage and digital work... including printables you might enjoy. I also have my home and garden site, http://www.creativecountrymom.blogspot.com. This week I am doing a look back to my spring garden.

Hope to be able to connect more in this new year. I am spending less time on Facebook and gave up twitter and everything else. A girl needs time to create, decorate and GARDEN ya know!

    God bless....Brooke
