While putting away Christmas decor a winter guest room sitting area came to life…
I’ve been taking down the Christmas decorations a lot slower than putting them up? In the living area there are boxes and bins scattered around as we fill them back up for next year. Organization is a higher priority this year which will make decorating easier next year.
New vignettes are created as each room is cleared. Play time! Its so funny as I decorate Mr. C will say “are you playing”? I say, Yes!
Since creating the sitting area its become one of my favorite spots to be.
The cottage area rug was the inspiration for the pink accents. The area rugs are protecting the unfinished wood floors.
I moved a few furniture pieces around and as a result a corner opened up which made a perfect sitting area.
A draped boxwood wreath was hung over the white mirror.
A shutter placed against the wall gave me a place to hang the cute sign, purchased from fellow blogger Kris, and another boxwood wreath. I’ve left my pink tree out since I just love looking at them.
Since our remodel from hell I’ve been tempted to rent the room out!
On the opposite wall I hung a favorite cross stitch of a quilt I made over 30 years ago! Its just perfect for my dressing room.
I also hung a floral mirror above the cross stitch and placed two more pink trees.
I’ve been spending quiet time here while reading or knitting. A cosy area to spend time alone reflecting one’s thoughts. Also, if I’m being honest, time away from Mr.C too! I’m so happy to have my guest room sitting area..
Do you have a favorite place to sit and spend some time alone?
