As many of you know Mr. C and I have been busy with our kitchen updo. Today was a jammed pack day of activity.
The Charmer lacks storage space…but then again most homes seem to lack in this area. The last few months I’ve been buying a ton of dishes and wanted to display some in a few vignettes. I was looking for different ways to display them.
I was tickled when this vignette came together. I had an empty wine crate…
I’ve been using on top of my cabinets to “elevate” above the crown molding. I took it down to clean it off and set it on the counter. I started pulling out dishes I wanted to use and as I was placing a set down I tucked one of the plates in an open slots.
To my surprise it stood right up! Kinda cool!
The last few years I’ve been finding single pieces of vintage Myott Finlandia Blue Staffordshire dishes. At thrift stores I’ve found 9 pieces so far, two dinner plates, 1 salad/bread plate, 3 small bowls, gravy and sugar bowl.
The wine crate has three slots, so I used both my plates and the small plate in the slots. I like the contrast of the crate wood with the dishes.
I thought the orange pansies really popped with the plates.
I moved the wine crate plate holder vignette above one of the cabinets…
I’m really happy how it turned out, and I think I found a different way to display some of our dishes.
