Hello Charmer friends! Sometimes it can seem like your garden hands you weeds more than flowers!
With all the rain falling, and little to no sun shinning, in IL, the only thing popping/growing are the weeds? So many of the the annuals I started in the greenhouse just aren’t dealing well in these conditions. I’ve had only one Cosmos bloom so far…
but the Mallow are doing quite we’ll…
and so are the Zinnias…
but the Larkspur, Dianthus, Blue Flax, Stachy and Baby’s Breath aren’t, just not enough sun! It makes me sad, because this is their time to shine. Even though the span is short…it’s still their time.
You might not know this, but the Charmer is in the old part of town, and we have alleys. I have certainly found my fair share of great alley treasures, and today was no exception. But it wasn’t the typical treasures I thought I’d find like old windows and doors and stone and so many other great things.
Today I found some of nature’s treasures, weeds..
These pretty flowers were growing wildly down the alley. As I was cutting them down I realized that even though it is a weed when it blooms it can be beautiful!
Even though found in they alley it remind me of a “balloon” flower. Don’t know if I’ve seen a weed with this type of flower, have you?
The moral of the story, just because it’s a weed doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful. All things are beautiful!
Take care my dear friends!
