Through thrifting I’ve unknowingly started many collections. What’s the saying, it only takes two to make a collection? I’ve certainly got that covered! Last month my milk glass collection was shared with you, and today I’m sharing my vintage animal planter collection.
The planters are brought out in early Spring and also used for Easter. This year they’ve been kept out longer than usual. They always bring a smile to my face whenever I look at them and can’t bring myself to put them away!
Its fun for me to wait till the pansy’s are being sold and place different colors in each planter.
My collection consists of a wacky looking duck and very cute and shy rabbit…
it’s hard to put them away, their adorable faces just melt your heart..
The blue bird planter on the top is a favorite of mine and I use him all year long. The cute young duck on the bottom was found just a few weeks ago. To me he has a look of wonderment on his face.
Every morning after waking I up, coming down the staircase, the animal family is seen sitting on the dining room table, and a smile comes across my face.
For the rest of the warmer weather the blue bird and chick on the end are used. Now I’ll also being using my the two recent finds, the young duck (on bottom) and the big smiling bird on top. Their new home will be on the windowsill by my main prep area in the kitchen.
I’ll still be seeing them the first thing in the morning as I make my tea.
Do you have any vintage planters?
