Hello and so glad you are here! If we’re going to shun those long wait times for fancy restaurant reservations and instead curl up in front of the fireplace with your loved one, I wanted to make sure our mantel fits the occasion, a Valentine Mantel!
Its bitter cold here and will only reach a high of 14°, firewood has been bought, menu decided, groceries bought and the mantel decorated. Everything seems in order except the cooking but that usually is a joyous event for me. Nothing show love more than a meal made for someone you love.
The Winter mantel was left pretty much the same….
But added a vintage book page banner, with fabric hearts, so easy to make, so simple and serene. Every year I plan on making a new one, but when its pulled out from storage box I know no other is needed. Its getting worn with a few torn edges, but adds a bit more character.
There should be a bit of bling at Valentine’s so I added a rhinestone heart earring to one of the hearts. The pair was of course found while treasure hunting at thrift stores, the pair was $1.79.
It would’t be Valentine’s without some X’s & O’s going on during the night.
Love needs to be in the air…
Hearts of any kind….red tickling with satin stitch heart and buttons.
Love can be innocent, especially during it early conception, and the lamb seemed appropriate to keep out with my all favorite pink trees which I just might need to keep out all year long. Fabric hearts are some of my favorite. Pretty pink flowers on an aqua background.
The vintage mirrors themselves lends a sense of elegance and romance. Added pink and red hearts to the tree.
Glitter hearts from Dollar Tree (love that store) adds shimmer to the night and will throw and bounce light across the room once the fire is lit.
Couldn’t bring myself to remove the young deer with a face filled with wonderment and love. What’s more romantic than snow capped trees in a woodland setting.
The scene has been set, the players assigned and the evening is drawing nearer….and I’m loving my Valentine mantel.
Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine’s day!
