Valentine Love, Hearts and Roses

Hello everyone,

When I think of Valentines I think of love, hearts, roses and my Mr. Charmer.  This year, of all years I appreciate him more than ever.  Mr. Charmer showed me what love really is!   His love, strength, patience, caring and devotion is beyond anything I have ever know.   His love is a wonderful thing!

It was so much fun pulling together our Valentine Love, hearts and roses vignette!

Valentine Love, Heart and Roses

The hearts were so easy and quick to  make, and I’ll share with you soon how I made them. All three hearts costs less than $2 to make and the fabric came from GW.

A close up, the pink heart in the middle was made from an old winter scarf.

The vignette started with the lace skirt I made, and then we mounted the L.O.V.E sign on a board found at GW. Mr. C painted it heirloom white and aged it up a bit. It was hung using red yarn.

Crochet Red Roses

I crochet two large roses and hung at each corner along with some pink and red yarn.  The roses were very quick and I’ll share the pattern with you soon too.

On the mantel’s left side is one of the hearts I made, and very pretty rose picture that I found at GW and a winter scene pitcher with pink roses inside.

Hearts and roses

The  mantels right side has the rose metal basket filled with the hearts, and the rose filled white ironstone pitcher just found at GW, and a pretty little rose petal heart in a white vase (a last year’s find). Both the pink and red roses were brought at Trader Joe’s, the red roses were $6, and the pink roses $5.

White tea pot and tea cups

In the middle is a white tea/coffee pot just found at GW, a red rose and two pretty thrift store red/white tea cups.

I wish I could have red roses all year long on the mantel..

Valentine Mantel

I feel happy when I look at the mantel, with the beautiful colors of white, red and pink.  Just happy colors that make you come a alive.

Cathy – your mantel looks soooo pretty – and yes – happy! I love that you and your hubby worked together on creating such a wonderful vignette. I adore your darling fabric hearts! {Gotta love GW! :)} I tried making some a year or so ago and filled them with lavender. They smelled wonderful, but didn’t look half as pretty as yours! My sewing has much to be desired. lolol! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, sweetie! You’re such a doll! Blessings on a peaceful Sunday!

Cathy, your vignette came together beautifully!! I love the sweet words you wrote about Mr. Charmer….so touching.
You sign looks gorgeous as the centerpiece. I’m thinking that you aren’t going to want to take that vignette down anytime soon. :)

Thanks for sharing at Project Inspire{d}~AnExtraordinaryDay.net
