Hello friends. You all must know by now my favorite place to be at the Charmer, beside my gardens, is the kitchen nook. Spending as as much as I do in there means I like to decorate it in the season, holiday and just for any reason.
I’ve been using my vintage tablecloths as curtains in the nook for the holidays and a spring/winter look too. Several of my linens drawers are overflowing and using them as curtains gives me time to find other hiding places.
Pulled red tablecloths out of the drawers, not having a holiday theme, and hung over the rods. A small Hallmark Rose vintage platter nested in the window and a Polka Dot plant from Aldi’s’. Sorry, so hard to get good photos while shooting into the sun…even on cloudy day like today.
The top linen was removed from the linen chair covers and replaced with a red checkered napkis for color with a lace pillow sits on the chair.
Linen and lace sweetly bestows a romantic foundation for the table centerpiece. A red linen table runner nestled under a lace one enhances with the white wicker tray provides a sense of serenity..
A basket sits inside the wicker tray with a rose plate behind and a heart inside.
A wire basket filled with a heart (Laura Ashely) lace and roses. Another lace pillow on the other chair and the rose platter. The vignette gives a sense of peace and tranquility, as least for me.
In the window are three candlesticks that have either a rose teacup, or small bowl on the top to house the pink trees. Two needlepoint roses, one in the window and one in front of a candlestick. It snowed last night providing a lovely backdrop behind the window.
Another passion of mine (like I need another one?) is needlepoint. The needlepoint roses spoke to me, take me, take me home, which I did. I am such a vintage hoarder…..I need a bigger house but then I would soon fill that up too.
Vintage rose teacup and a pink tree I can’t seem to say away from!
My knitted heart banner was added providing more red to the room. I didn’t expect to like how much the red and blue walls go together….and I just love red. Makes me feel happy.
I love how easy it is to change the look of the vintage linen chair covers by changing out the top linen used.
It so funny after posting the photos I always spot something I missed? I forgot to change out the winter painting above the shelf with a rose one. I love the amount of light that comes in the nook (today was a cloudy day) but it makes it so hard to get good photos.
The long curtains on the window are toile fabric. When I look at the photo and see the red against the blue gets me a wondering…what if?
Did you notice the bead board on the nook ceiling? One day it’s going to be white…when you might ask? One day after Mr. C has been gone for a few days it will be white when he comes home. Just saying!
