I adore thrifting! I look for treasures at garage sales, thrift, resale, rummage and antiques stores. I am not ashamed to admit I drive down alleys and streets before garbage day looking for a freebie. I am excited to share with you some of my treasures from last week…
Garage sale find, $7.00. Great metal bar/beverage cart, there’s 3 slots to hold bottles, several areas for glasses, ice bucket and anything you might need for a party. A quick coat of spray paint and this will look great on the deck once the Deck Re.ju.ve.na.tion is completed.
Thrift Store (Pass It On) find $7.00. The colors caught my eye right away, pulled it off the hanger to check it out. A beautiful piece, all hand quilted, queen size quilt! Great find to help summerize our bedroom. Looking for fabric to make curtains and thinking of a muslin basket weave pattern to provide some texture and help lighten up the room.
Garage sale – $3.00. I was at a church garage sale when I spotted this cute dog. What a find, the maker’s mark on the bottom “Royal Crown” which I believe is a division of Royal Crown Derby Porcelain from England. Not sure of the dog breed, but a collectable for $3.00! Anyone know what breed it is?
Rummage Shop – $8.00 A beautiful pair of glass candlesticks, the blue on these candlesticks is beau.ti.ful! They still have their original foil sticker made in “Romania”. These will look great on my mantel.
Thrift store find – $35.00. Another find from my most favorite thrift store, Pass It On (proceeds support Christianity). A glass top metal table, and after a coat of spray paint, will be a nice addition to our deck. Love the scroll work on the frame!
Salvation Army Thrift Store – $35.00. A really nice white RESIN wicker bench. I’ve been looking for wicker, and was thrilled that it was resin – yeah all weather – just what I need. I spotted this in the window on Sunday evening – yep you got it, I was there 20 minutes before opening the next morning. Just threw on the cushions to give some color. Another great piece for the deck!
Do you know why they call them Butt basket’s? Cause the button of the basket resembles the shape of a butt and they are typically made out of split oak. A small butt basket is going for $150.00 on eBay. This basket is huge! A STEAL! A closeup of bottom, hard to get a good picture.
Garage sale – $0.25. Yes, 25¢ I found this vintage magazine rack. The veneer handle is chipped so thinking I will paint it with Annie Sloan’s Old White Chalk Paint, and then distress with a dark wax. This will look great in our front/family room.
Great week for treasures that come in all shapes and sizes. Happy Treasure Hunting – heading out the door right now to find more THRIFTY TREASURES!
