Today’s post is about this though that and as you can gather different topics!
I’m still not feeling very good and even though the bronchitis has cleared up the virus went to my sinuses and now have viral sinusitis. Horrible is all I can say. My energy level has been almost non-existent. I’ve been trying so many different Homeopathic remedies and nada so far. I’ve been taking triple doses of vitamin C.
I just started to take NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine), 600 mg 3 times a day. NAC is the acetylated form of L-cysteine and is great in breaking up pulmonary and bronchial mucous and supports the immune system. NAC is an antioxidant and is know to reduce swelling which is what sinusitis is, your sinuses become swollen and mucous become trapped.
It has greatly thinned my horrible mucous (sorry for gory details) associated with sinusitis and allows me to take in more oxygen. The side effect increase energy level! I know someones going to say “why aren’t you taking an antibiotic”? First antibiotics do NOTHING for a virus and any MD that provides one is an ass (sorry). Many times a MD give an antibiotic so the patient feels like they are getting something for there office visit. Good reason.
Also I am allergic to large range of antibiotics; penicillin, all sulfur, cephalosporins etc. The only ones I can take cause a high probability of getting a horrible condition called C-Diff. Not a good option for me.
I’m also taking Quercitin which reduces swelling too, especially in the sinus areas and is great for allergies! Quercitin is what I take during spring and summer to keep my allergies at bay. I’m also nasal rise with a neti pot using essential oils inside. Yesterday I went for acupuncture and I felt the best I have in weeks. This morning better but not great. Sinusitis can take 4 t0 six weeks to get rid of, ugh!
Its funny one day I can wake up and feel good (a sick good) and it was a beautiful day on Saturday…
and the clouds along with the blue sky were gorgeous. In the morning I joined my knitting group and when I got back took Ginger for a short walk.
Walking we spotted some beautiful Crocus in bloom. Ginger wasn’t too impressed and was sniffing around for the dog that lives there. Saturday was a good day and thought I was on my way to recovering..
But on Sunday I woke up feeling the worse I’ve felt and the “pressure” pain in my cheeks was horrible!!!!!
Tuesday we took Ginger for a much needed grooming visit..
This is how she look the day before when we were out on our walk. She loves being outside and looks forward to her walks. Soon as I put my coat on she starts jumping up and down all excited.
You can see from her face she’s feeling “why is this yellow bow in my hair” look. Ginger has turned into one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had. No aggression in close to two months, a real laid back sweetheart. She still has some flashbacks but doesn’t show ANY aggression.
Seriously when we first had Ginger I never would of guess she could ever turned into the sweetheart she really is! We are so lucky we were patient enough to wait until she felt safe and loved.
She loves laying on our bed and sleeps with us. The photo isn’t the best of our bedroom and the pink blanket was my Mom’s. All the satin trim around the edges are gone but I couldn’t sleep at night without it.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing our cottage Easter table and hope to be feeling better for Easter!
Have a great day!!!
