Smiles peeps,
I was standing at one of my kitchen window this morning thinking about sharing my garden with Fishtail Cottage Garden party.
When it hit me, show my garden outside my kitchen window! Sometimes creative moments like this just happen :-}.
There are 5 windows in my kitchen and the views I'm sharing are a few views from some of them!

The window I look out the most is where I do most of my cooking from. It's been so hot here I really have not spent much time out weeding or deadheading. My Lambsear (left) needs some serious deadheading!
Rubeckia (yellow) variegated zebra grass (middle) and some heirloom Balsam on right!

Looking out to the left of the window. There is another long bed across from this area, it's against the house.
The Lambsear has taken over, on the far left is Nepata (catmint), by the obelisk is Chocolate Joe Pye Weed, the two yellow flowers is not Rubeckia but annual Helianthus, a very hearty reseeder.

The next week is actually going to be cooler, so I'll be heading outdoors to do some maintenance.

Looking to the right, I made the cow you see - was really in to them a while back. Heirloom Balsam, climbing Hydrangea is on the fence, and a Karl Forester grass and pink phlox.

Farther down, phlox, balsam, a juniper. Below this area is my herb garden.

A very pretty Morning Glory outside the window growing tall on a trellis against the wall.

I was hanging out the window to get this shot!

This is all the way down on the right, taken from a window on the left side in my kitchen nook. Behind this area is our garage.

The next few photos are taken just outside my kitchen nook to the right of the garden area shared.
Normally I live in this area in the summer, I can count on one hand how many times I've sat out here this summer.

Another sitting area just a few feet from the last one. I do believe the the chair is calling me!
Hope you enjoy this little tour of my garden area outside my kitchen.
What views do you have from your kitchen?

Your garden is lovely, Cathy! I love the Zebra grass; it is probably the only ornamental grass I still like. {We had an invasive crazy variety that took over a few spots in our yard at the old house}.
What a dream garden Cathy! We sold our home 2 years ago and I miss my garden soooo much -
We are in a victorian flat that needs a lot of work on the inside so can't play in the dirt...........
BTW - I tried to send you a thank you by email for you sweet words on my buffet/hutch but it said you're a no reply blogger - I think somethings up with Google because I seem to be getting an awful lot of them lately!
Hugs,
Suzan
I recall when I fell I was on my way outside to take a photo of my first morning glory. Now I don't know if there were any more or not. Oh well. I love your gardens. They look pretty darned good compared to what is around here with 115 degree heat! I can't imagine having that many windows in the kitchen!
Brenda
You have such lovely views from your windows! Love the little sitting patio you have. Looks so inviting!
Nancy
You have wonderful views from your garden! I love the sitting area in your last photo. I know what you mean about not sitting outside this summer. With the heat we have had I haven't sat in my back yard at all.
Visiting from Fishtail Cottage.
your kitchen views are so fantastic! i would love to enjoy the garden sitting in your patio area (a place for me and you to visit)!
thanks for linking up to Fishtail Cottage's garden party! xoxo, tracie
What a gorgeous garden you have, Cathy--what a delight to be able to work in the kitchen and have such lovely views nearby. I love the morning glory, and the little secret garden with the wicker chairs--lovely! My lamb's ears have taken over, too--I just cut back all the dead flowers, so it looks much better. The bees and hummingbirds adore those flowers, so I leave them on until the last possible moment, but they had gone to seed and were definitely in need of a haircut!
Your patio area is beautiful. I love the wicker chairs especially. I am working on my kitchen view and have added a butterfly bush and a climbing rose. The other window has a bird feeder which we love.
First, I don't think I needed to know that I could be linking the garden up to fun places too!!! Guess I will be going there next.
Second, your pictures and your gardens are LOVELY!!! Hopefully the weather lets you sit a spell soon!
