On Thursday morning Bo’s doctor, Dr. Herring told us they had put Bo on a new liver drug (late Wednesday) and there was visible improvement. His inflammation was down, he seemed alert, and was sitting up. He wasn’t eating and drinking – but this was a GOOD thing.
Friday morning Bo was still improving. Bo, with help, was able to get up and WALK about 30 feet. He was drinking water and with an appetite stimulant was eating.
Well, guess who came home Sunday morning? YIPPEE!!!!!!!
BO, THE COMEBACK DOG!!!
The #1 reason – God wasn’t ready to take him to fur heaven. All the others are earthly ones:
- Our love and devotion and new home equity line of credit (well spent)
- The incredible University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Urbana, IL
- THE DEDICATION AND LOVE of Veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Herring
I cannot say enough about The University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital or Dr. Herring. If you live in Illinois, and your dog is SICK, this is the place to go. This is about an 2 1/2 hour drive that was so worth it. I know that Bo would never have made it if it were not for them.
Entrance to Small Animal Clinic.
1st row, dirty and half asleep Bo, 2nd row: the incredible Dr. Herring (left) and Veterinary Student, Jessica. Back row: Mr. Charmer who is definitely happy Bo is coming home.
Dr. Herring’s dedication and passion for her patients (the furry kind) is above reproach. Dr. Herring called me a minimum of 3 times daily to update us about Bo. She stayed with me when visiting Bo to answer any questions we had. I cannot say enough about Dr. Herring . She is not only a great veterinarian – but a really wonderful person. The ICU team was also great and took such good care of BO.
Bo looks pretty bad above, he’s barely awake and so stressed out. But he is the COMEBACK DOG!!!
Here’s what Bo looked like about 1 month before becoming sick…
OUR BEAUTIFUL LAID BACK BO!!!!
