The weather has been beautiful to be working and straightening up outside. The outside was just as much a mess as inside from our remodel. There’s so much work to do outside, in the garden and yard. As I straightened up the porch Mr. C tackled the garage. Since its not good to have all work and no play, I couldn’t help but create a simple fall vignette.
Creating a fall vignette on the porch was the last thing on my mind when I started cleaning. It was beyond a mess out there just like inside. It all began when I uncovered the chairs under piles of debris.
The lace tablecloth gave the vignette a romantic feel. There was little time to “play” on the vignette, Mr. C asked me, “are you playing”? I said: Yes, I am! Whenever I’m decorating I’ll tell him “I’m playing”. Decorating to me is fun!
The centerpiece was very simple, a pumpkin, pretty blue teapot and Salvia. I love the how the blues pop against the orange colors. The Salvia, in the enamel creamer, was share the other day with a few other bouquets.
A dried pumpkin stem from last year provided a touch of unexpected character to the vintage dishware. Last year at GW I scored a full set of the vintage dishes. Remember to save ALL your pumpkin stems from this year. You just never known when you’ll use them since their so cute all dried up!
The October teacup, scored a few months back, put a smile on my face. Speaking of October I can’t believe its almost over!
The teacup, a garage sale find, was .20¢ and I couldn’t pass it up! I sure wish someone would find the dishes before I do! Since I don’t need one more piece, I really don’t.
It was so beautiful we ate out here for dinner…a very relaxing time even as the stress continues.
It was one of the few times we have felt stress free in nearly five months and it felt good!
I’m so sad to see October leave…
I’ll be doing a post soon letting you know how we’ve been trying to pick up the pieces….
