I think it's important to show our patriotism, especially during our current trying times. This year I really wanted to decorate to celebrate.
I quickly and inexpensively pulled together my take on a patriotic kitchen nook.
Since I haven't had our kitchen reveal yet I''m sharing our nook only.
You know me by now, every item used in our patriotic decor is a thrift find (flea, garage or dollar tree).
I started out by using a pretty red/white/blue square tablecloth that I found at the Marley flea Market last week.
I used dollar tree bandanas for the curtains, and chair covers.
The tablescape was anchored by a dollar tree placement...placed vintage blue/white dishes stacked on top of a cast iron pan. Red starred napkins on top with an ironstone pitcher filled with blue handled silverware.
I just found the vintage red oil lantern today at a garage sale...
this lovely Betsy Ross plate was found at the same garage sale today.
Above the table and window another vignette was created. The red lantern, patriotic platter, and bottles were from my stash in the dungeon.
The chairs were covered with blue bandanas, and pillows from a thrift store with a red thrown over the chair.
I also used the bandanas as small windows curtain accents....blue and red bandanas were used, a frugal, but quick and cute.
In the corner I added some blue dishes and napkins. Also a old quilt blue/white heart and a flag plaque.
Are you done with your Independence day decorating?
