Our Wooden Window Repairs Are Completed!

Our main living area wooden window repairs are completed!  It is a tedious and time consuming job.
So glad I didn't have to do it. Wink

My hubs is the man for the job, his idea of a fun time is re-piecing a plate that's scattered in to a thousand pieces.  I am the kind of wife who likes to keep their man happy!

Our windows had peeling, chipping paint, or lack thereof.  Last year we did the family room windows here, here, here, but the weather turned on us and we didn't get the dinning room done.

Excuse the mess!  In this photo we started stripping the top part of the windows (were all white).

You can see it better here.  These windows had layers upon layers of different of paint. We hubs used coats and coats of paint stripper.

We hubs stained the inside of the windows Dark Walnut, just love this color.  I love how the white of the window trim pops against the dark stain.

The windows are original to the house, and the glass is etched.

You'll know how much I love our etched windows with how many photos I'm sharing,

Had enough of etched glass?

I'm so excited their done, love how they look, and can't wait to finish the room.

Thanks hubs, your one great guy!

  1. Beautiful, Cathy! Love the glass and you have such a pretty view to your front garden. I'll bet you are glad to get your house back in order. I know how disorganized I feel when a project takes over a room.

    • Kathy, glad you like the etched glass as much as I do. I am so glad to get the house back in order, it's been a mess, which is hard to live with in A small home!

  2. They look great Cathy!
The molding around your windows is gorgeous!!

    • Martina just checked out your favorite room and it is so beautiful, I'd hang out there every night too. The molding is one of my favorite features in our home, and I love it. It's really adds such great charm to the rooms. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. This looks fantastic, Cathy! The room has always been sooo beautiful, but your husband did a great job and added lots of value to your house.
I'm always so touched to see two people going in the same direction - that makes everything flourish. And it's called blessing :)

  5. Cathy, I have helped on some of the re-glazing of panes, it's really a big job. I touch up the screens and storms almost every year.

  6. Oh my goodness, those windows are gorgeous! Did your husband do all the molding/trim around them, too? Is he for hire? lol
