A Spring bunny…nothing says Spring more. The weathers warming up and its time to put away the warm woolies and dig out the gardening tools, spring weather seem here (at least for two weeks) in IL!
Even though I am continuing to battle my bronchitis and improving slowly each day I was able to take Ginger for a very short walk today. As we we started back Ginger gave me a look “why are we headed back we just left”. But my energy level didn’t allow me to go very far!
One of the few things I’ve been able to do is knit while watching TV to help keep myself occupied.
Spring is indoors too with this cute knit bunny that I just finished. I can’t say its my best knitting work but I am happy how she turned out. The first time a new pattern is done its a learning lesson,
I started by knitting each separate bunny pieces. In the photo above the head (left) and ears are done. The pattern called for ears that stood upright but I liked the look of floppy ears. I’ll make another smaller bunny using upright ears.
It took me a whole day of seaming and stuffing all of the little bunny pieces. I should have followed the instructions and stuffed and seamed as I went along with the knitting. The way the light is hitting makes it look like somethings hanging from her crotch area…but it’s just the light hitting the mirror. Aren’t those the cutest feet/shoes!
I like how the face turned out but next time I’ll use a little less stuffing because the seams are separating a little. The dress was made out of some fabric remants and added a bit of lace around her neck. I think the way the left ear is laying is so cute.
Her facial features were made with floss and french knots and back stitching for the nose and mouth. I think she has a pretty silhouette in the photo.
A small dried floral wreath was placed on her head to give a bit more charm and character. I plan on knitting a few dresses for her and a pretty shawl.
Each day I’m trying to get back in to the swing by doing small task and/or crafting. After my walk of 4 blocks I laid down and slept for 2 hours. Low energy level is not the norm for me and with the weather being warmer outside, 60°, I so want to get started on cleaning my garden and starting some seeds.
Have you started any Spring crafts yet?
