Wednesday's I usually head out for a day of Treasure Pickin!
Last Wednesday I hit some thrift stores,
but NEVER expected to find this at Goodwill...
It is a solid oak farmhouse mantel!
I couldn't believe my eyes as I headed back to the furniture section. But there she was leaning against the wall.
I had to do a double take - I must be seeing things! My heart was pumping!!!
I'd say I snatched her up, but she was too freakin heavy - so I ripped off the bottom tag and headed straight to the cashiers.
I had to tie her down on the top of my hubs SUV, too big to get inside (5' wide) and drove straight down to my booth in Indian Oak Antique Mall and moved her right in.
Now what do you think I paid for her?

Wow! I don't know what to say over that deal, Cathy! My GW doesn't carry much in furniture, but if I saw this I'd snap it up, too. My daughter is looking for a mantel for her living room.
Wow, that is an astonishing deal!! I've never seen anything like that in a thrift store, what an incredible find! I'd have rushed to the check-out as well. Not sure where I'd put it but I would never have been able to resist that!
Okay, you are definitely a thrifting rock star! That is a great mantel and you can't beat the price. The best deal I ever got--I have to think about that--we once got four gorgeous tall columns for free when we were driving down the street and a neighbor was pull out all the columns in his front porches of his four-plex to replace them--that was a great score! I'll have to think about it some more--we've had a few over the years! I'd love to visit your booth--would if I lived closer--I bet it's gorgeous!
