Main Living Area: Pinch Pleated Cafe Curtains…..

Oi Vey,

I’ve been working on these curtains for what seems like for.eve.er.

Actually just over two weeks..

Of hair pulling, mind bending, calculus challenging hurdles.

The curtains themselves were not hard to do

but the calculations Ugh!

caused me to pull at my hair, kick pillows, act like a crazy women, say bad words, and yes drink…

really – it almost did me in!!!!!

BUT – I am so glad I stayed with it….

The inspiration for our main living area was

1929 ch

this gorgeous colorful Ralph Lauren fabric.

I am so happy with how they turned out!!

The mood I’m going for is a cottage style with a casually formal look.

And by Joe I’ve think I’ve  Got It!

Aren’t they lov.er.ly?

Did ya notice the stairway wall has several paint swatches?

Just can’t make up my mind!

So let’s focus on the curtains shall we?

pinch pleated drapes

No more neony Merlot color (even though I loved it), except for 1 unfinished wall.

The pictures are hard to take, the window faces South, this is actually on a cloudy day.

The pillows were just pull together.

I’ve completely revamped our decorating style, so will take awhile to..

find and pull everything together.

Do ya love them as much as me?

I sure hope so!!!

I haven’t made up my mind where I want them to fall on the window so I haven’t hemmed them yet.

What curtains have you been working on lately!

I’ll be putting up a tutorial soon!

That fabric is beautiful! I never would have thought to put that style of curtain on those living room windows, but it really works. I just love your cozy living room. For some reason the feel of it reminds me of my own, even though the styles are really not that similar. Anyway, love it!

Hi Cathy those are darling in a cottagy yet formal way. I love Ralph Lauren fabric I used to well I still do have a source for their seconds but it is 4 hours away now back in OK their seconds are fabulous because they have such high standards I am talking 5.95 a yard anyways love your house and we had a bedroom painted electric merlot once with a striped quilt from the Company Store that I got cheap on ebay. Love your style it is inspiring.

Looking forward to your tutorial…..you decided what I want for curtain style for my south facing front windows, which my 3 big, l.o.u.d. dogs look out all day. Right now there’s nothing there because hubs is re-doing molding, etc.

I do love them! So cute and colorful! I have measured for pinch pleated drapes a couple of times. All that math is indeed enough to leave your cross eyed.

I’m trying to decide on a fabric for my dining room. We originally put the same drapes as the living room in there, but it doesn’t work there. I have been racking my brain looking for a fabric. I am getting some new to me furniture and the whole dining room is finally coming around!! Yours look fantastic! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
