Looking Out My Rearview Mirror: October

October has been a beautiful month for weather...and an active one here at The Charmer. I'm happy to share our projects with you today!

October was a month filled with Fall projects:

Our Fall Porch! It was so much fun decorating our porch for fall. Our window box was filled with local Farmers market pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn. The pretty wool plaid throw and pillow were found at a flea market down in Alton, Il.   All the treasures used in decorating were thrift store and flea market finds.

Vignettes -  I've never found decorating vignettes a natural process for me - not until The Charmer beckoned me to "honor" her character and change her back into the cottage style she was meant to be. I feel the lighter wall colors made it so much easier to decorate too.

Autumn Mantel: I loved the fact that I could change the mantel from summer to fall...using thrift store treasures and rustic finds.  I also loved how it came out. One of my favorites.

I shared how the Hydrangea Wreath was made here.

Autumn Burlap Lampshade and Vignette: I've been enjoying "dressing up" the lamp that sits in the corner of our dining room...and fall was no exception. I wanted a quick and easy project, and the it certainly was.

Fall Corner Vignette: This little corner vignette is right next to our fireplace, and the chest provides us much needed storage.

Fall Leaf Art Project:  Simple, easy and inexpensive way to provide some Fall decor to a small wall that is part of the staircase.

Window Renovation: One of our biggest projects was renovating the old and peeling windows in our dining room.  I can't say our biggest project because this entire tedious, dirty and trying project was all done by Mr. Charmer.  Our windows are beautiful once again!

Drop Leaf Table and Chairs: I was lucky enough to become friends with Pat who I met at her garage sale last year.  She connected me with this lovely Drop Leaf Table.   The table is exactly what we needed for our dining room.

And finally I share a few Slow Cooker Recipes: Slow Cooker Pork and Green Chile Stew and Slow Cooker Fajitas.  Both so yummy and delicious!

It's been a busy and fun month, and I look forward to sharing with you all our activity from November.
