I have always loved Winter, and this year is no exception. Most people, even ones who live in cold weather always give me that are you crazy look? But I’m not, just love the beauty of winter, the snow, snow outlined foot tracks, the crisp cold air entering your lungs, ice skating, sledding, hiking in the woods and snow shoeing at an arboretum.
It’s been snowing a lot during December and we reached 9″ in snow over New Year’s. It is now snowing again and we are predicted to get 1-3 more inches.
So I decided to do our Winter buffet on a Winter Wonderland theme…
The runner is a tablecloth with scalloped edges that I layered to give the effect of drifts of snow.
The wonderland theme branched out from this woodland tree I found at HomeGoods last week’s after Christmas sale..
The white plates around the mirror were left, and I just started filling in with everything I could find that was white. While doing this I found I had 6 white pitchers..
Three white pitches, a button tree with skates and fur white mittens hung over the mirror..
Three more white pitchers, a white capped tree with ice skates and a fur ear warmer hanging from the mirror..
The fur gloves and ear warmer are about 25 years old. The mittens are unraveling but I still wear the ear warmers.
A simple and white vignette.
I wish I could go ice skating in the Palos woods but I don’t think I’m quite ready for that just yet.
Are you enjoying your winter?
I think I made a mistake on the date for Sunday’s Best Par.tay, it is tomorrow, Sunday, January 5th (not the 4th) at 4:00 p.m.
Can’t wait to see all you creative inspiration once again after 10 months!
