Is 33 years toooo long to spend on a project?
I started this project back in 1980!!! I was newly married (now ex) when I started cross-stitching Mr. and Mrs. Duck. We had just finished building our new home, and was making these for our family room.
They were never finished, and the marriage ended.
Through the years I pulled them out, worked on them a little, but again never finished.
I’ve been spending a lot more time on my butt lately and decided to start working on them again.
They are finally finished after 33 years….now that didn’t take LONG did it!
The photos don’t really show how cute they really are…
Frames were place over them before a few photos were shot.
If Mrs. Duck’s bonnet & Mr. Duck’s neck tie weren’t already done.. the pink would have change to another color.
The photos were taking laying on our drop leaf table…waking into my craft room I spotted the green shutter leaning against the wall. I’ve been wanting to paint it white and will have Mr. Charmer do soon. I just tucked the ends down in to the slots and used burlap to “frame” the couple out for a finished look. I really did this just to take a picture against a wall, but I kinds of like it!
I have no idea where to use them, they’d be cute in spring.. or maybe in the kitchen…but my mind is still churning on what to do with them.
I just hope it doesn’t take me 33 years to figure out where to put them!
Do you have any idea? What’s the longest time it’s taken you to finish a project?
