Independence Day Look In The Guest Room.
I haven’t done hardly any decorating for Independence Day like I usually do. I love decorating for it but, as I said before, I’m having a hard time catching up. Yesterday in the garden I planted the last remaining flowers. Another project completed is a good thing!
While organizing my quilts I came across one that was perfect to use in the guest room in honor of Independence Day. To my surprise though I found I had many more than I realized! This got me sorting through my linens to see which ones I rarely use and giveaway.
It’s perfect for the occasion. But, I’m having a mental-pause moment and can’t remember the pattern name? During one of the rally’s last year I found the quilt. Last year I purchased over 10 hand stitched vintage quilts. Now you know why I’m clearing out my linens drawers…
On the night stand I created a small vignette using flags, Boyd’s Teddy Bear, a blue bottle and buffalo check tablecloth.
To dress up the lampshade I just twisted a bandana and tied it around the bottom.
I learned a photo trick today. Photos taken upstairs come out poorly because I’m always shooting into a bright window. They usually come out grainy and never, even with editing, come out nice. The trick is when shooting a photo where the outside light is brighter than inside is to use your camera’s flash. The flash brightens up the room which will equalizes the light to outside. Even though the photos aren’t perfect they are much better.
Volunteering at the thrift store last week they has several Boyds Teddy Bears. I bought several including the patriotic teddy bear.
To bring in more color a plaid throw was placed on the bed. On top is a boxwood wreath and a quilt ball. The quilt ball was made using an old quit cut into strips and then rolled in to the ball.
Sometimes I thing I’ll move into the dressing room..its one of my favorite places.
I really love how it turned out and love using my quilts to decorate.
Its late and I’m volunteering tomorrow…so I’m headed off to bed.
Wishing you all a great celebration this Independence day! Be safe!
