I guess you can call this a Fairy Garden?

Smiles my friends,

It's been a hectic week...

but yesterday morning I headed out to our local Farmer's Market (5 blocks away)

for some fresh veggies - to my delight they were also having a plant clearance sale.

All they had left where some Dianthus and six Hens and Chicks, 25¢ each.

I have several bird baths out in the garden

Filled a grapevine bird bath with dirt

added the six hens and chicks, and a cute sweet cherub.

I know the fairies are suppose to be smaller, but the fairies in my garden grow big and strong!!!

It works for me.

Have you done any fairy garden this summer?

  1. I think that turned out great, Cathy! I love how you used the birdbath {and that it brings it up closer to eye level} and your fairy was a great touch for the middle. I never thought the Farmer's Market might have some plants. I need to replace some that didn't make it through the heat wave. I was planning on going next week to get some fruits and veggies, but I will look for plants, too!

    • So glad you like my fairy garden. I buy most of my plants at our farmers market. The prices are so cheap, but they don't open till june 5 which is late, but I usually buy my front plants and wait to buy my back garden from the farmers market. Great prices, and good stock.

  2. So sweet! I love it! Thanks for your comment on my pallet valances. I fixed the link for the funnel light, thanks for letting me know it didn't work!

  3. soo cute sweet actually been thinking about u each day especially as we headed to the vets today.. Hugs RaNae

  4. No fairy gardens for me...I'm too busy trying to keep the garden demons (weeds, wasps, white fly, lizards, etc.) at bay and plant new flowers. Also trying to get my patio and garden junk in order so it looks more like design and less like chaos. I guess if I was smart and planted a hulky garden fairy like you, the enemies of my garden might be dissuaded. I'll have to work on that.

  8. Came over from your party to find a sweet corner of your yard. At least you know that the garden is protected by the cherub fairy! I would have to set up a place to loll and read!

  9. I love hen and chicks! They look cute in the birdbath, Cathy! No little fairies can survive the heat this year!

  10. Oh I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Our fairies would be big and strong too. I've done lots of dreaming of fairies in the garden, but haven't made a garden specific to them yet. I do like the hens and chicks in the bird bath. Perhaps I will keep my eyes open for yet another bird bath!!!!
