Hoping everyone had a happy and blessed Christmas/holiday! We had ham for dinner and sometimes I think I look forward more to the leftovers! Ham and pasta skillet was last night’s leftover meal.
Whenever I buy a ham I buy the largest one! Never less than 10 pounds. I only buy a ham butt portion, not a spiral. Got to have that ham bone! I also think ham has more favor when cooked and sliced off the bone.
Before cooking I cut slices off for future breakfasts.
After the main dish I cut the remaining whole sections from the bone for soup…and leftovers. Glorious leftovers.
Leftovers are also great since they mean a quick and easy meal like Ham and pasta skillet.
Its creamy without being too rich and takes less than 45 minutes to make.
The dish is made in one pot. But, I don’ like cooking the pasta in the same pan because it becomes too starchy.
Also this is one of my favorite leftover ham recipes. But if your looking for a few more, Ham & Risotto Barley, Ham, Barley and Vegetable Soup, and Ham and Lentil Soup, also Ham and Vegetable Frittata
