Hello, and good morning! I got home yesterday from a Sisters On The Fly event. But, to me, its always great to get home! There was very little sleep to be had over the weekend and really need to catch up! So I was glad, before leaving, the living area fall decorating was finished along with the fall mantle.
I wanted a sign/banner for the mantle but something a little different….
Thrift stores are a great place to find inexpensive wooden cutting boards. I love decorating with them in table vignettes and thought they were also made a great sign too! I simply ripped out a few pages from a vintage book and stenciled the a letter on each one. This was a very easy and quick project. The letters were stuck to the boards with double sided tape, or you could use a dab of hot glue!
Another quick project used on the fall mantel was printing out a copy of a vintage red truck fill with pumpkins….I cannot remember where I got this..if you do, let me know so I can provide credit and a link to them.
Thrift stores tins are another great way to bring in some fall color. My favorite aqua/brown fall creamer and a rattan vase.
I painted a dollar tree pumpkin aqua and replaced the stem with a real one. I always save my pumpkin stems! You can fill a clear glass vase with them which creates a rustic earthy look.
No matter what I did I couldn’t get a good picture of the fall mantle, most of my windows face south and the gorgeous sun just fills the whole living area.
The weather is forecasted to be beautiful this week and we are headed out for out last trip with Minnie later in the week before we put her to bed for the winter!
