While I was sitting out side on the porch writing a post, because I can’t do much anything else with my back issue, I see an email come in from Better homes and Gardens. My first thought was that it was about renewing my subscription. I clicked on the email and started reading it…
Just wanted to touch base again about the photos mentioned below. If you’d like to be featured in our fall slideshow, we’d need your photo submission and release signature by Monday, May 18. Let me know as soon as possible if you’re planning to participate!”
Touch base again?
Featured in a fall slideshow?
My fingers couldn’t type fast enough to say YES!!! So Jessica gave me all the details, such as our homes front porch is being featured in their fall home slideshow. It will be on their site starting in July, and promotion starting September 1.
Photos needed to be submitted, which sounds easy right? Remember when I said I’m not a lucky girl? Well, remember I have a new Mac computer, and I just got my files converted from windows to Mac? It took me a day to find where they were on the backup, photo edited when I realized I didn’t know how to send a photo.jpg by email. It’s so not like windows.
So here I am again, on the phone with Apple Care! I started rambling about how I only had one day to get these photos to BH&G and I don’t know how to do it. Turns out a few of the Apple Care service tech don’t either? The third time was the charm and off the photos went.
Turns out I didn’t send the “right sizes” and I had by the end of the business day (its 2pm) to resize them and get them back to her! Guess what happened? Yes, my computer did a complete freeze, even after having all the software removed and reinstalled on Sunday.
I have to be honest, I started to panic, that’s a lie, I started panicking as soon as I saw the email, but I wanted you to think I was “cool” under pressure. Long story short I got them there on time…and I’m in!
I’m going to share with you something only shared with Mr. C. A few months after surgery Country Sampler emailed me to photograph my home for their Christmas series. I mean, its such a thrill to see the Charmer, that I love, in a magazine!
YES, but they only gave me 4 days notice to have my home in “photo” ready shape. After surgery, I was really in a dark place and still in pain when I broke down crying. I realized I just couldn’t do it. I cried for days and days, I felt so “weak” that I couldn’t pull it together. That was near two years ago.
I had this anxiety that somehow it wouldn’t work out again…but it has….and I’m feeling good!
If you’ve made it this far reading my rambling post, without any pictures, I thank you.
It seems like a good time to offer some more of my 3 year blogiversary giveaways! All the winners will be announced June 1. Since I don’t accept sponsor gifts, my giveaways are thrift store treasures…wishing they’ll be in one of your homes giving them a new life and purpose!
