Embracing Simplicity

Hello Everyone!

Last year was such a difficult year for me, sometimes it felt like being in hell!  Soon I'll write about my journey, but it is still too raw, and I need time for everything to settle a bit.

I've grown so much over the last year, an awakening, that was meant for me to experience.

I realized I needed to live life embracing simplicity...

I was rushing around, sometimes in circles, NEVER really smelling the roses... as they say!

I wasn't really enjoying life...just rushing through..no more!

'Tis a gift to be simple,
Tis a gift to be free,
Tis a gift to come down
Where we ought to be
And when we filled ourselves
In the place that's right
'Twill be in the valley
Of love and delight.

D0 you yearn for a simpler life?

  1. All the time my friend!! Beautiful post Cathy and I am so happy to know you are in a much better place than your were a year ago! Its funny because I think we as decorators, crafters, cooks and gardeners all want bring a more simple homemade approach to our lives...something I think a lot of people have just forgotten about.
Have a great yet uncluttered unrushed weekend!!!
    XO Barbara

  2. I'd love to hear your story when you're ready to share it. Blessings to you...

  3. This is great and I needed to hear it...I'm always struggling with needing to slow down and actually enjoy life, not just run from one thing to the next. Thanks for the reminder! :)

  4. Hi, Cathy! I know exactly what you mean! And yes, I'll admit I'd like to simplify. Easier said than done when we enjoy doing so many different things! :) But I wholeheartedly agree.

  5. My life is pretty simple. I'm in the process of simplifying my home though. Not easy for me and my love of stuff. I want to make sure that I'm doing it for me, and not because someone else is doing it or thinks I should.

  6. When I have a difficult time I try to remember - when god closes one door he opens another. Sometimes it takes a while to appreciate it.

  7. Sometimes I feel like the world is living and whirling around me because we have simplified our lives. We do not run out every night of the week, or weekend! We have our "protective" rules for our family to ensure the outside does not take over. Now, if I could just get rid of my clothes from when I worked 17 years ago and all the stuff I really don't need!!
