For me the best part of any project begins, now! The part when you start pulling everything together. Pulling the colors, furniture, decorations, material and all the other finishing touches into a total look. I love this part! It’s bringing the “you” to the project.
I’ve spent the last two weeks returning linens, searching for new, and finding more thrifty options for the cushions, pillows and tablecloth etc. for the deck.
This is often when I spend a good chunk of change, but not this time, I really needed to be a very tight budget. So I’m really using
linens material that I haven’t used before, in ways that I have not used before.
Here is a grouping of the material I will be using for the sewing projects for the deck.
The material above was the “color” inspiration for the deck project. The deck stain color, Bordeaux was pulled from it.
I had already purchased most of the material for the project, but to save money I returned most of it (except the main one) and headed out thrifting to find coordinating fabrics. This is a SA (salvation army) find. A .50 cent pillowcase (color is a little off in picture).
This material was found at my favorite thrift store. 2 yards for $2.oo. I actually love this material better than the expensive one I returned.
I wanted to add some much needed texture. This really caught my eye (drape pleating tape). Wait till you see what I do with this, and this…
A single twin blanket, $2.00 find. This will also bring texture, it is a beautiful, soft fabric.
I have only 1 sewing project left before all the sewing (cushions, pillow, throws) projects are completed.
I’m really loving how everything turned out. The reveal will be posted next week.
