Hello! It’s so great to have the bulk of the major projects over and in control. I’ve been shifting between working on Minnie and my craft room. As I was cleaning up I realized our cottage summer living area hasn’t been shared yet.
Have you noticed all across blogland, and in stores, Fall decor is everywhere. I love Fall, but I’m not ready to give up summer so easily…actually I don’t feel that I’ve really had time to enjoy this summer. So, I’m savoring every moment until Fall is officially here. There’s just too much summer left in me!
One thing nice about not having advertisers, or trying to make money, is not feeling pressure to keep up with everyone else. It nice to just do what and when I want. The only ones I care about making happy are you guys!
The white wicker tray was grabbed right up as soon as I spotted it. The cottage sugar and creamer pattern is one of my favorites.
Last month, I mentioned, my old camera Nikon D40, died and no emergency room could help bring her back. I brought a refurbished Nikon 5500 plus a wide angle lens. Before buying the lens it was nearly impossible to get a whole room shot of any room at the Charmer. Since she’s long and narrow the wide angle lens makes taking photos so much easier. It keeps me from standing way back in another room.
In the summer time a real cozy, laid back look is what is needed. The pink flowered pillow is a recent barn sale find and all the pillows, as well as linens, are thrift store finds.
I didn’t sleep well last night, got up early, and headed outside to cut some flowers from the garden before it sizzled up to over 91° today. I wouldn’t be spending much time outdoors today! Zinnias (started from seed) the work horse of my garden this year, shasta daisies and salvia (started from seed) blooms.
To create a cozy summertime look vintage linens were draped over the love seats. Each love seat was covered with a white vintage chenille bedspread. Then, a pink floral vintage bed sheet was draped over the back, across the seat (not the cushions) and over the front.
The left’s love seat cushions were wrapped in a pink vintage chenille bedspread. The other love seat cushions were covered with a pink crochet throw. I’m on the lookout for a few more pink vintage chenille bedspreads for pillows and curtains for inside Minnie.

The vintage yellow linen is a recent find that I fell in love with the embroidered flowers on her. You must know by now how much I love color!
Even though today is a clouding day its still hard to get photos with so much light pouring through the windows Love using my vintage linens and they store so much easier than dishes! To me, you can never have too many of either.
Some more fresh cut garden flowers, pink phlox, sun flower and salvia.
The recliner against the wall is also covered in a white vintage bedspread and is the only chair I can sit in. Since surgery I experience problems with pain in my neck and the chair takes pressure off of it. I miss sitting on the love seats since they were so comfortable.
I have to admit, sometimes I plop myself down on the love seat and fall asleep for a few. It so comfy with all the pillows. The hallway straight ahead leads into the kitchen The hallway on the right has two bedrooms, one on each side and a bathroom in the middle.
I love the summer time cozy feel of the room and would like to keep it all year…but then I love decorating for Fall too!
