Summer Cottage Garden Vignette
I have sooooo many things I love to do and one of my favorites is creating vignettes. Since I love my gardens, as much as I do my home, I often create and use garden vignettes outside in the gardens.
The photo didn’t come out as clear as I hoped since I was shooting into the sun. But anyways this area of my garden is called the Sun Garden. It’s a long narrow strip that starting at the gate and leads to the secret garden.
Can you see the bike in the background? The wisteria covered arbor and the path to the garden begin here.
This is a very long narrow section of garden and it actually was a DRIVE WAY. The grass covers the driveway underneath. I needed a sun garden much more than I needed a driveway. So, you can have a garden anywhere you want to put it…
Since this area of the garden long and narrow is why I place the vignette here, To give your eye a resting place making the area to help not look so long/narrow.
I’ve mentioned a few times before that vintage chairs, doors, and windows just seem to follow me home. The set of four chairs was no exception. Chairs provide architectural interest to a garden. Just remove the seat and place a flower planter in inside. The chair can then be easily moved about the garden bringing color where needed.
Pretty white Inpatient’s, that I started from seed, filled the chair with beautifully and elegantly.
I planted a “fairy garden” flower seed mix in several old enamel pans and am loving the look.
Nigella, a beautiful flower to include in a summer cottage garden vignette.
Alyssum, a sweet, sweet flower.
A beautiful white flower..
I love the fairy garden planters I did this year using them in several summer cottage garden vignettes.
We’re leaving for a vintage trailer rally today. Looking forward to getting away and visiting some of my most favorite thrift shops. Excited to see what treasures I’ll find and just have to take home!
While away I’ll try to get a post up but there’s no guaranteeing since I’ll be having too much fun the “Hippy” themed rally this year. Now, this is a theme I can relate to because it brings back so many memories.
