Cottage curtains for Minnie – our vintage Shasta trailer
I’ve tried at least 5 different curtains in Minnie but none gave me the “look” I wanted. Since my style is cottage that’s the look I wanted for Minnie too. But there were two things throwing me off; 1) the birch paneling and red cushions.
In the photo lace curtains with a buffalo check napkin over the top. You can see how beautiful the birch wood is since we used amber shellac on it.
I do not like the “vinyl” cushions and will replace at some point. But the lace curtains didn’t give us much privacy and allowed the early morning light in just a bit too early.
The fabric is Hobby Lobby’s and love the rose fabric which I also used in a Valentine’s Hoop Art project. To give more of a cottage feel I decided to use all three fabrics in the curtains.
The front window will have four separate panels to make it easier to open and close. The sides two panels each.
Next I ripped 3″ strips of the green fabric.
The red buffalo check was cut into 5 1/2″ strips next.
Do you like my ironing board cover? I feel in love with the fabric and made the cover for it.
After all the fabric was cut each piece was stacked on top of each other. Rose fabric on the bottom, folded 3″ green fabric next and the buffalo check on top right side down.
What can I say? I’m so happy how cute they turned out!
Finally I have curtains that gives me the cottage look I was after…
Of course I want to know what you think…do you like Minnie’s new cottage curtains?
Now I need to figure out what fabric to use in the bedroom area.
P.S…I just got my new camera so after today my photo quality will improve.
