Christmas is only 3 days away! When I entertain it’s never very formal. You know I love to cook but I’m a totally casual person, and so is my home. Most of the Charmers furnishing were purchased from thrift store and barn sale finds. My farmhouse table was a steal from a barn sale I attended in November.
I hear over and over again when someone comes to our home how cozy and charming it is. This is the best compliment someone could give me. Our home is all about a casual cozy style on a thrift store budget.
Our Christmas Table Setting Cottage Style was achieved using thrift store treasures. I am proud to decorate our Charmer on a thrift store budget, with no less style, than a high budget one!
We have not had sun in over 12 day so the photos reflect that. The table setting started with a table runner my Mama made for me over 30 years ago.
Each place setting started with white thrift store place mats ($1 each), next a GW red charger ($1 each), on top of the charger is a large white charger (GW $1.99 each). A thrift store vintage red transferware dinner plate ($1.49 each) the last dish is from Walmart. I purchased them two years ago and think they were $1.
Then a napkin from Hobby Lobby, an after Christmas sale last year, for 80% off, $0.49. The napkin is slipped through a white tree napkin ring holder, $0.49.
Looks like an expensive place setting, doesn’t it?
At the top of the place setting is a .10 vintage jello mold with a .25 tree. The silverware is gold, and I spent more than I usually do, but I had to have them. A thrift store find, 4 place settings, each piece was $1.78 each. I slid a metal star (remember my theme this year) over to hold in place.
The red water glasses another thrift store find, $1. The vintage wine glasses I’ve had so long I don’t even remember where I bought them at.
Mr. & Mrs. Claus salt and pepper, $2. Soup tureen $4.99
Vintage ornaments collected over the years from garage sale and thrift stores.
Sugar, creamer red transferware
Each white chair was $4.
My plan is to take a break between Christmas and New Years. I really need to rejuvenate a bit.
Remember to be safe, and enjoy each moment as if there might not be another one.
Take care sweet friends of the Charmer, and have a blessed holiday!
