Welcome friends! Last August the Charmer’s new exterior look was shared with y’all.
The color of the front door. The colors (purple/sea foam) looks good with the yellow and grey, but, felt it made the Charmer lean a little to a painted lady look. Now, don’t get you heels in an uproar, I like painted ladies! But the Charmer is a cottage, and can’t really be anything else. Her style screams cottage.
Mr. C and I have had many discussions about the front door since its been finished. You know, before we started her change, I always said I wanted a red front door. I’ve seem many yellow homes with red doors and loved it.
I leaned to this color because our painter suggested it, and like I said it is a very good match….
To my surprise when I was at the I Love Fall Camping, Sister’s On The Fly event he took it upon himself to paint …
the front door red!
The red color seems to “hold” its own against the grey and yellow.
I love it! Hubs also painted a red line across the top of the leaded glass window, but I’ll be painting that back white. See the white rim around the door by the glass insert? Do you think I should paint that small area red? or leave it white?
The red door helped bring her back to her “cottage” charm.
The front porch is really highlighted now.
I love how the red door pops and helps to make the Charmer look total cottagey. I’m so happy Mr. C painted it red…he was rewarded for all his hard work!
