Cafe Curtains – Not Your Grandma Curtains… and behind the scenes!

Smiles,

Last week I showed you some inspiration for my curtains,

Cafe curtains,

I stumbled across this photo from Traditional Home,

and realized today's Cafe curtains...

are NOT what hung at Grandma's House!

Isn't orange in right now? Surprised

The curtains are for our main living area - and the "casual/formal" look is what I'm after!

Pinch pleated Cafe curtains is the way to go!

I've made all the curtains that drape my home - but never tackled making pinch pleated before.

The obvious 1st step is to buy a pattern, right?

Wrong, I could not find a pattern at Hancock Fabrics or Jo-Ann's!

So I searched Ebay - and found this one

While I'm waiting for the pattern to arrive..

I'll research the big wide web for all the  info I can find!

Have you ever made Pinch Pleated Curtains?

  1. I always make a straight curtain and use the curtain rings with the clips to pinch the pleat. Saves me work and I can use the curtain later another way.

Never! Like you know, Im a sewing disaster. But I'll need to make some curtains for my hall...Im bored of the whites...Would love to see your inspirations all on board :)

  3. Cathy,

Great inspirational photos. Good luck with your pinch pleats. I can't offer you any help, other than wishing you good luck!
