Changing colored leaves
Jack O’Lanterns glowing bright
Starry Autumn night
Sounds like the kind of fall we are having in IL. The weather this week has been, oh….so….beautiful. I made new fall “rustic elegance” (according to a a blog follower), curtains for our living area. Once the curtains were finally done I was inspired to finish fallifying the Charmer.
A few days ago our Autumn Mantel was shared and today our Autumn Buffet. I love our buffet, it’s wear my final “checkout” is done before leaving the house, my favorite mirror is above it, my vintage plates hang and a whole lot of my vintage linens lay in lavender sachet drawers.
The first thing I did was switch out the plates with fall ones. Again, everything is a thrift store find…except the mirror and pumpkins.
In the center is a vintage blue onion soup tureen filled with fall leaves from the yard. The blue and white kitchen towel was added inside the vintage frame for color. The blue and white candle holders were just found for 50¢ each. Acorns are from the oak tree across the street.
Is it me or are the leaves so much more spectacular this year?
I filled a wicker basket with a rusty old milk pail filled with dried Chocolate Joe Pye Weed flowers and goldenrod. Tucked in is a baby Mum from Lowe’s for 79¢. I have a whole set of the orange/white linens, 1 large table runner, 6 placemats and napkins.
The soup tureen is now my favorite one, I love the oval shape and the pattern on it. It has the blue and brown to compliment fall. The lantern in the back was part of the barn sale, $1, and the blue tea pot also was a $1.
Can you see the brown rattan mat on the bottom, makes a great backdrop for the vignette, a GW $1 find.
I think you can see the soup tureens pattern better, that’s the lid in the center above the mirror. You can see the mantel reflection in the mirror and why I always have to have the mantel done first.
The theme for the buffet was blue and orange. I was lucky to find two of the larger middle plates which has such great fall color.
It’s always so much fun decorating vignettes in fall colors. Wonder what I was thinking when I hung the garland that way…looks like half of it is flopping!
Have you finished you fall decorating?
