Mr. Charmer loves pork of any kind, he eats it (I usually eat fish) at least 3 times a week. Last week I had a craving for Asian Inspired Pork Chops.
The pork chops have really great flavor and are quick to make. You can make them outside on the grill or inside on a grill pan.
Give them a try, they are ever so tasty and the longer you marinate the better the flavor. I simmered the remaining marinade and poured over the top of each pork chop!
I served with a vegetable fried rice and roasted fresh asparagus!
Did I mention I’m feeling stuffed?
Asian Ginger Pork Chops
1 -2 oranges (1/2 cup worth)
2 tbsp soy sauce (Gf use Tamari or amino acids)
2 tbsp minced fresh ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp garlic chili paste
1/2 tsp salt (0r omit enough salt in soy sauce)
4-6 1/2 inch thick pork chops, bone in
Grate 1 tbsp of finely zested (use microplane) orange, then squeeze 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice. In a swallow bowl, mix orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and chili paste and salt if you are adding. Add pork chops to dish or plastic bag and pour marinade over the pork chops. Coat evenly, chill, covered, turning the chops in the marinade occasionally, for at least 2 hours or overnight. (I prepare the night before when I’m making that dinner, put in fridge and marinade over night.
Preheat grill or grill pan to medium heat (pork cooked on a lower heat will not become tough like on a higher heat). Cook approx. 5-6 minutes per side. Pour heated marinade over served pork chops.
