Another Corner Vignette!

Smiles Peeps,

I've shared several vignettes from our living area, here, here and here.

Today I finished the last one in our dining area,

here's what I started with..

A small area to the right of the fireplace,
the dresser was a curb side find and the first piece hubs and I ever did!

Started by placing a table runner found at a garage sale..

I've had this gold frame forever, I think there was a picture of Jesus in it and somehow I stepped through it,

geez, hope God doesn't hold that against me!

I've added this old farm tool, don't remember what it is and have had it for years. One of the 1st pieces bought at Kane Country Flea Market, I filled it with hydrangeas from out in the garden, tied a burlap bow and added the pearl necklace.

I just started adding thrift store treasures.  The rustically chippy scale topped with my Mom's copper pail.

I'll share a funny tail about the pail - hubs and I had just gotten together, and I asked him to drill some drainage holes in a white planter. About 20  minutes later he came upstairs, his chest all puffed up like a rooster, you know feeling pretty proud of the job he did.  He handed me the copper pail with about 10 drill holes on the bottom!!!!

I almost killed him!!

I mean who drills holes in copper?

On the left side I added the blue vase and tea cup on top of a crochet runner.

The gold scroll on the wall was a GW find, I'm thinking about painting it white.

I really love how it turned out!

Actually one of my favorite vignettes I've done.

  1. CUTE!! I like a lot!! I do believe that is a seed planter and that we have one in the attic I just may have to go up and get! I love how you put the empty frame around it to dress it up. That's why mine is still in the attic. It felt too rustic for my home.

I love the charming little vignette you created. That gold piece from GW was a great find. I do think I would like it white.

  4. Love this vignette Cathy - especially the old tool framed...I love the play of romance against rustic utility! It's a very warm and comfy vignette - I can see why it's your favorite - lovely way to pull others into the space :~)

  5. I cannot decide what it is that makes this so special. i think it may be that touch of bright cobalt blue. The dresser is a charmer! I would just sit and look at this!

  6. Hi Cathy: Oh, I love all the wonderful details you included in your vignette. I love the pearls against the rough burlap, and that blue vase is lovely. The frame is really beautiful, too, and I think helps to tie everything together--what a fun corner to decorate!

  7. It's beautiful Cathy. Ten holes in a copper teapot....genius.

  8. Great vignette. Very clever idea to frame the too - especially with the gold frame - nice contrast.

  9. You found that at the curb? I can't believe what folks throw out. And why am I not close by when they choose to do this? Very pretty vignette! I can see why it would be one of your favs!
