I pulled together a very simple winter mantel…
the centerpiece of the winter mantel is a a winter scene oil painting by my Uncle Earl. Uncle Earl was my Mom’s sister Rita’s husband. He painted it in 1978.
Uncle Earl never painted before he retired and he started taking a class at a local college.
The old bed springs have Epson salt snowballs in side. I kept the evergreens from Christmas and cover the container with a thrift store numbly sweater.
I started by adding the lace around the fireplace mantel which added some lacy charm.
I kept a little red, like the red cardinals since they are even more beautiful against the winter snow outside.
I kept these cardinal ornaments since each ornament has the Cardinals in a winter scene (sorry about photo)
Below the oil painting is a very pretty white holly bowl with pine cones and fake snow.
I think we’ll have a fire tonight, it will be oh so cozy to sit here drinking a hot tea.
