A Fall Vignette

Smiles peeps,

I am so glad cooler weather is here...

just put together my first Fall vignette!

I decided to Fall up the living room area,

This is how it looked before. Sorry about picture quality, my lens was on manual focus and I didn't' know it.

Started off by hanging the curtain rod (GW) and shelf  (laying around in basement).

I found this basket at a thrift store, and created a Fall wreath

Everything in the basket was used last year, just rearranged. The apple tin, books and pumpkin are old too.

The basket was my starting point for the vignette. The basket was hung from the curtain rod.

Love how it turned out, and most of this vignette was created using last years stash.

I found the basket last year at a thrift store and just fell in love with the color, you know what a color girl I am!

Another view of the corner, the Fall Subway art is from The Kurtz Corner.

I love using old rakes to hang items on, and this rake has been used many times before.

The other side has a few new old pieces, the wire cloche was a Homegoods find last year, the two fall pictures from the barn sale, the upside down candle holder a GW find, and the pumpkin was made last year.

The white acorn (GW, spray painted white) is sitting on a trashed garden tool remnant found at the barn sale too.

Both pictures found at the barn sale for 50¢ each.

They're perfect for the spot, I'm liking the old gold looking frames against our new wall color.

On the shelf above I place dollies were barn sale fines, 25 ¢ each, the barn oil painting is from Savers for $1.99, and I fell so much in love with it I couldn't bring to the shop.  I turned another candle holder upside down and added the candle.  Dried flowers hanging on the shelve.

What do you think, should I paint the shelf white and antique it?
Remember I'm not a monochrome person!

Are you as inspired as I am by fall?

You asked about painting the shelf... I love the warmth of the colour that it is now, and the contrast of it with the white doilies. I also think that the brown tone of it ties in nicely with the colour of the top of the cabinet(?) below it.

  5. So pretty! I love the chicken wire and leaves. My favorite part(s) are the barn paintings, I've got a soft spot for old country views. Pinned it!

  12. Your fall mantel is so pretty, Cathy--I really love your wreath in the basket, and what a clever idea to reuse a rake head and other garden tool implement as a holder for other items--it looks beautiful! Thank you so much for commenting on my autumn joy wreath that I made--I have it up on our door, and it looks nice.
